Pre-prohibition cocktails and modern twists on classics

Yellow Jacket

Yellow Jacket

Ingredients:

2oz Reposado Tequila

1oz St. Germain

.75oz Yellow Chartreuse

1 dash Regan’s Orange Bitters

Lemon Twist

Instructions:

Add the tequila, St. Germain, yellow Chartreuse and bitters to a chilled mixing glass. Add ice and stir until well chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the lemon twist.

Notes:

Floral honey nose. The elderflower laden St. Germain and herbal honey yellow Chartreuse pair well with reposado tequila. This trio tastes like they were meant to be together, playing together seamlessly with a hint of bitter at the finish.

History:

This great cocktail comes from Employee’s Only in NYC and is featured in their book Speakeasy. I highly recommend this book as it also has a great recipe for a “white” Martinez among many others. Check out New Martinez for more on this.
