Brainstorm
Ingredients:
2oz Irish Whiskey
.5oz Dry Vermouth
.25oz Benedictine
Orange Twist
Instructions:
Add the Irish whiskey, dry vermouth and Benedictine to a chilled mixing glass. Add ice and stir until well chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the Orange twist.
Notes:
Airy, light citrus nose. Smooth whiskey flavor up front with whisps of smoke. Mild dryness, honey sweet accents and a quick finish. Refreshing and lighter than you might expect.
History:
Brainstorm is another classic credited to Hugo Ensslin, creator of the Aviation and Chrysanthemum, published among many other classics in his Recipes for Mix Drinks (1916).
