Distiller’s Crossing

Ingredients:
1oz Dry Rye Gin
1.25oz Gran Classico
.75oz Punt e Mes
Orange Twist
Instructions:
Add the Dry Rye gin, Gran Classico and Punt e Mes to a chilled rocks glass. Add ice and stir gently. Garnish with the orange twist.
Notes:
Citrus dominant malt and botanicals on the nose. The Dry Rye Gin makes you think you are getting an unaged rye or maybe some genever. But when you taste it, it’s gin through and through with a decidedly malty flavor and spice from the rye. A very potent malty gin taste leads the palate, with accents of orange, rhubarb and herbs from the Gran Classico. The combination of Punt e Mes and Gran Classico sweetens the gin, while the bitter side of both comes through on the dry herb tinged finish.
History:

In case you can’t tell, I’m having too much fun with St. George Spirits gins. This one features their Dry Rye gin, which has a malty spiced flavor, that makes for a really unique taste. Thanks to this rye gin, Distiller’s Crossing tastes somewhere in-between a Negroni and a 1794 (a rye Boulevardier). The Gran Classico and Punt e Mes really work well with this gin.
Variations:
While the Gran Classico and Punt e Mes are great in this one, you could use another bitter orange spirit or vermouth to change up the flavor.
