Herban Botanist
Ingredients:
1oz Botanivore Gin
1oz Cynar
1oz Cocchi Americano
1 squirt Bittermens Orange Cream Citrate
Orange twist
Instructions:
Add the Botanivore Gin, Cynar, Cocchi Americano and Bittermens Orange Cream Citrate bitters to a chilled mixing glass. Add ice and stir until well chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the orange twist.
Notes:
Citrus, herb and botanical driven nose. The botanivore is botanicals at their best. The herbal Cynar pairs nicely while the crisp taste of Cocchi Americano sets the mouthfeel. The Cynar layers in smooth leather. The bitters and cocchi give you the fruit and orange citrus notes all finishing with a crisp citrus slightly bittered finish. Delicious. Complex. Refreshing. What more could you ask for?
History:
More fun with St. George’s excellent line of gins. The botanivore gin is their closest product to a traditional gin, like London dry, only the botanicals are on steroids. Strong botanical flavors, set this one apart from your standard gins. The combination of Botanivore with the herbal/vegetal Cynar and the bittered Cocchi Americano makes for a delicious sipper that is both light and refreshing, yet with a slightly heavier base thanks to the Cynar and botanical gin. Makes for a great variation on the standard Negroni.
